JOB TITLE: HR Manager, the Netherlands

DEPARTMENT: Nordic Pharma Group BV (holding company)

REPORTING TO: Global Vice-President HR & Communication



General summary of role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist to become the HR Manager for our Dutch Headquarters and affiliate. You will join an international company with a presence in 20 countries, around 300 employees globally and with modern headquarters based in Hoofddorp.

You will be part of a tight-knit global HR and Communications team of 5 but will be working independently in the Netherlands. You will be the HR business partner for several global line managers and general management of the Netherlands. You will play an active role in building a constructive and open Corporate culture in the NL. You will work closely with the finance department and external payroll partners to ensure that the HR administration is executed seamlessly. You will support the Global HR VP in setting up and executing HR projects and act as a Senior HR colleague in the global HR team.

This position will require a flexible attitude. There will be plenty of challenges ahead and procedures to improve and implement as we grow and move forward as a company. Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and social legislation is essential.


Essential responsibilities and tasks:

  • Driving role in the recruitment and selection process within the company.
  • Optimize HR processes.
  • Ensure that all HR processes are compliant and well executed.
  • Ensure that your knowledge is accurate on social legislation and labor law.
  • Consult with and advise line management and global HR.
  • Mediate when necessary in case of inter personal conflicts, offer support and guarantee impartiality.
  • Actively participate in the analysis of questions regarding staffing, absenteeism, retention talent management etc. You discuss these, advise the management, take the necessary actions and follow up.
  • Participate in various global or local HR projects and change processes.
  • Contribute to a continuous evaluation and optimization of the HR processes to ensure their quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Comply with Nordic SOPs and GDPR Ruling.
  • Act as a senior contributor to the Global HR team.


Qualification and previous experience required:

  • Academic thinking level with at least a completed HBO education focused on the HR field.
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in the HR field of which several in a global environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Dutch social legislation and labor law.
  • Interest for commercial and business-related activities.
  • Results-oriented, sense of urgency and for pragmatic solutions. Tactful attitude, listening, coaching and advisory skills. Persuasion and ability to bridge cultural gaps and contradictions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Fluent in Dutch and a very good knowledge of Business English.
  • Able to respond to unexpected situations.
  • Independent and self-starter.
